Those guests wishing to bring dogs will find we are very ‘dog friendly’. We supply plenty of ‘doggie bags’ and poop scoops and there is a regularly emptied Council Dog Waste Bin just a few yards from our front gates. There are dog bowls and spare leads in the cottage. If your dog needs a bit of a ‘freshen up’ and you do not have time to bath him/her, we find the “Pet Fresh” Animal Deodorant Spray in the cupboard under the sink very useful at times and you will find your pet will then smell very sweetly of apricots. (Our dogs much prefer the smell of seaweed, but we don’t!!)

| Louis and Josh enjoying Warkworth Beach |
Northumberland provides many opportunities for dog walking and many of its wonderful beaches are open to dogs all year round. As well as miles of coastal walks, there are also lovely river walks to be enjoyed and for those pets (and their owners) who are much more energetic – there are extensive walks within the Northumberland National Parks.
We will accept up to 2 dogs and are one of the few five star properties to do this. We do ask, however, that dogs are not left alone in the property and are not allowed on furniture.
We charge £5 per dog per week, 50% of this is donated to Canine Partners, who train dogs to help the disabled, and the other 50% is split between the Warkworth in Bloom and Warkworth Christmas Lights Appeal
For those dogs who are unfortunate enough to need a visit to a vet during their holiday, (and one of ours can speak from bitter experience here after getting sand in his eye!) the Alnorthumbria Veterinary Group can be found at 3 locations:-
Belvedere Terrace, Alnwick (Tel 01665 602516)
Wagonway Road, Alnwick, (Tel 01665 510999)
1-3 Bede Street, Amble. (Tel 01665 713111 for details).
